I am proud to call St. James my lifelong home. Born and raised in this close-knit community, I have always felt a deep sense of gratitude to give back to the place that has shaped who I am. I'm blessed to share my life with my husband of 23 years, Tom, who works for the Port Authority of NY & NJ and serves as a St. James Fire District Commissioner. Together, we've raised two remarkable sons, one who answered the call to serve our country as a cadet at West Point, and another who continues our family's legacy as a Smithtown East high school student.
Education isn't just my profession, it's my calling. Throughout my 23-year career, I have been honored to serve as a classroom English teacher, building administrator, district leader, and currently a central office executive. My academic background includes a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies and professional certifications in both Building and District Administration. This experience has given me a comprehensive understanding of how to support students, staff, and families at every level of the educational system.
Beyond my work in schools, I remain deeply committed to community service. I am an active member of the Smithtown East Football Touchdown Club, a proud supporter of local youth athletics and character development.
For the past nine years, I have also served as a parent volunteer in Boy Scout Troop 7 and previously dedicated time to public safety as an EMT-D with the St. James Fire Department. Most recently, I have joined the West Point Field Force for Long Island as a Parent Volunteer, assisting prospective candidates and their families.
As your school board representative, I will be committed to focusing on What Really Matters:
-
Ensuring all students meet their academic potential by championing personalized learning approaches and evidence-based educational practices that address diverse learning needs
-
Listening to and learning from the community through creating meaningful dialogue between parents, educators, and administrators to shape our district's future
-
Investing in our facilities for the future by advocating for safe, modern learning environments that provide the resources and infrastructure our students need to thrive in tomorrow's world
-
Respecting our taxpayers and preserving property values through responsible fiscal management and strategic planning that balances educational excellence with community affordability
With deep roots, extensive experience, and a passion for public education, I am ready to serve as a thoughtful, collaborative, and forward-thinking voice for our community. Together, we can continue building a school district that honors its traditions while preparing every student for a bright and successful future.
